Need a new laptop case? www.caselogic.com
From AdamL: "...Magitronic is out of busniess. I believe www.clevo.com.tw now owns them."
Do you want to retire your 7500A to run Linux? There is some good information on this at AdamL's Site: http://judgejudy.virtualave.net/magitronic.html... You owe it to yourself to check it out!
With the bugs surrounding Win98 and PCMCIA, your better off (at least for the time being) just updateing your Win95 OS. Pointers to useful WWW resources can be found here.
Looking for the huge 14.4V battery used in the 7500A series?
Powerline (www.powerline-battery.com)
[(800)234-2444] offers one under index number L0248HX. The battery is a slight
improvement over the original 2500mAH, boosting to 3900mAH. - Thanks, SteveA!
Cardworks for Win95 did not properly detect my new Boca 56K modem. I
found a page on SystemSoft Corporation's WWW site
at http://www.systemsoft.com/support/patch/411modem.zip.
Ofcourse, I'm not running V4.1 of Cardworks, So I followed the directions in the README.TXT
except I did not replace WIZ.EXE. Make sure you make a
backup copy of the cardworks directory before you attempt to install this patch...
For switch settings on Model 203 motherboard, please consult this text file by Martin Berard. The text file can be downloaded from ftp://members.aol.com/zitt/switch_settings_model203.txt.
To fix misc. timing problems with the laptop under win95's suspend
functions. The archive contains a program to reprogram your laptop's flashBIOS. You must
reboot your Win95 system and hit F8 to bring up the boot options menu. Select boot under
safe command prompt only mode. Execute the supplied program as PGM75A 950928LB.75A,
then follow the onscreen prompts. The orginal archive is no longer present. I
believe the same BIOS resides in 203.zip.
To fix all PCMCIA slots wanting IRQ7 under standard WIN95 configurations
you need to install CardWorks for Windows 95. It is available direct from ftp://ftp.magitronic.com/w95utils/w95axcd1.zip.
Note: This archive nolonger exists on their FTP site. Due to Legal reasons, I can
not post this software without consent from the company that makes cardworks.
You can; however, purchase a newer version for Win9x from the company that created
Cardworks at SystemSoft Corporation.
Update drivers for the ESS soundcard built into this laptop? They are available direct from ESSWIN95.ZIP.
Need drivers for Procorp's supplied PMX network card (I-E16-PCMCIA-1)? They are available direct from E16PCW95.ZIP.
